Usability As Common Courtesy” (PDF, 389 KB) is an excerpt from the book Don’t Make Me Think (2nd ed.) by Steve Krug. As always, Steve presents a light reading full of practical advice.

Style vs. Design” (PDF, 172 KB) was first published in 2000 by Jeffrey Zeldman (author of Designing With Web Standards) but the points he raised are still true today. There were positive changes since then but as he tells in his blog, some problems remain:

The bad news is that college and university design curricula are still mostly about everything but information architecture, usability, application design, user-focused design, accessibility, and web standards.
